Hello, and welcome to Lewis's Questions. Every week I will ask a different question, and hopefully you can help me answer it.
The first question I ask is: Where did NSECT go?
For those of you not familiar with NSECT, I will explain. NSECT Robotic Attack Creature was a brand of robotic-like toy bugs the size of large mixing bowl, released by Tyco R/C in 2006. Their website, nsect.co.uk, was full of fun stuff to do for kids, which included earning points towards prizes, the first of which was a set of free limited edition NSECT Meshcards. NSECT was a great success, which led to releasing a smaller version of the bug, a snake creature and little ball with wheels, all 3 part of the brand called the NSECT Swarm. I myself was a big fan of NSECT's website, but I was never lucky enough to actually get a bug. I went off it after that, and 3 years later, I try to look for the website but it has been deleted off the web. I then also discover that anywhere that sold them don't anymore and even the Tyco Toys website has no trace of the NSECT product whatsoever. Only from private sellers, such as members of eBay, can you now buy an NSECT.
So what happened? Did they go bankrupt because of the high price? Or did they just call it a day? If you do know, email me at lewisquestions@gmail.com and I'll post the best answers with next weeks answer.
